Progress 90 spacecraft launch and docking set to stream on NASA+ and website

NASA will broadcast the launch of Roscosmos spacecraft on Nov. 21, delivering nearly three tons of cargo to the International Space Station.

TEMPLE, Texas — The unpiloted Roscosmos Progress 90 spacecraft is set to launch on Thursday, Nov. 21 to provide food, fuel and supplies to the Expedition 72 crew in the International Space Station

The unpiloted cargo ship is carrying about three tons of materials and is scheduled to take off at 7:22 a.m. ET (5:22 p.m. local time) from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.

NASA will provide live launch coverage on NASA+ and the agency's website starting at 7 a.m. 

It will take two days for the spacecraft to reach the International Space Station. Once there, it will dock at the Poisk module part of the station. NASA expects supplies to arrive at 9:35 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23. 

This will also be streamed on NASA+ and the agency's website. Coverage will start at 8:45 a.m.

The cargo ship will stay at the space station for 6 months before returning to Earth to eliminate trash loaded by the crew in the space station.
