TEXAS, USA — Week 1 of the NFL has ended for both teams in Texas, and they both start 1-0 to open the season. Here's a recap of both games that kicked off the NFL season in the Lone Star State.
Cowboys
The Cowboys leave Cleveland 1-0 after a 33-17 win over the Browns. Fresh off a brand new contract extension, Dak Prescott looked sharp against a stout Cleveland defense. Returner KaVontae Turpin took a punt to the house for a touchdown as the Cowboys looked great in all three phases of the game. Ezekiel Elliott's return to the Cowboys featured a rushing touchdown as well. Dallas will look to keep the momentum rolling next week against the Saints.
Texans
After an exciting offseason in Houston, the Texans came out hot in Indianapolis against the Colts. New addition Stefon Diggs caught both of C.J. Stroud's touchdown passes in route to a 29-27 victory over their division rival. Another new Texan, RB Joe Mixon, had an outstanding debut for Houston, rushing for 159 yards on 30 carries. Colts QB Anthony Richardson gave DeMeco Ryans' defense some fits, so they'll look to get that unit in better shape ahead of next week's primetime matchup against the Bears.
