TEMPLE, Texas — In today’s Morning Playbook, just a day after saying he was never leaving Texas A&M, the school announced Jim Schlossnagle is now joining the Texas Longhorns to be their new head coach.
Schlossnagle said in a statement to Texas A&M, “although I know many will be upset with my decision, I chose to make a change to join a longtime friend to continue my career as a college baseball coach.”
The former Aggie will now reunite with Texas athletic director, Chris Del Conte. The two were together during Schlossnagle’s tenure at Texas Christian University.
Schlossnagle leaves A&M after three seasons with the team, including their first ever trip to the College Baseball World Series final.
