TEMPLE, Texas — In today’s Morning Playbook, the Ellison Eagles are one win away from getting their hands on the state title.
Ellison took down the hometown team, San Antonio Veterans Memorial, in the 5A state semi-finals. It was a dominant performance for the Eagles, but the Patriots tried to make it interesting in the fourth.
Jojo McIver showed a lot of skill, and the Eagles are off to the championship on Saturday at 3 p.m. against Lancaster.
BAYLOR MEN CLOSE OUT REGULAR SEASON
A little after on Saturday, number 11 Baylor plays their last game of the regular season on the road against one of their well known rivals, Texas Tech.
The Bears are coming off a three-win streak, which included an upset against number 7 Kansas and a special senior night versus Texas.
Baylor plays Tech at 5 pm tomorrow.
LADY BEARS IN BIG 12 TOURNEY
The Lady Bears are already in tournament mode, as they get ready to play Tech for the Big 12 crown!
The team had their first practice session in Kansas City yesterday, and said they're holding on to the great momentum they have gained over their five game win streak.
Baylor takes on Tech at 11 a.m., the winner will play Iowa State in the quarterfinals.
