Morning Playbook | Aggies headed to NFL Combine

Texas Today is keeping you up to date with the latest sports news with Morning Playbook!

TEMPLE, Texas — LADY BEARS FALL TO OU

In today’s Morning Playbook, it was the women's turn now to get a win against Oklahoma, but the Big 12 leaders ended up getting the best out of the Bears.

Baylor fought their way back to keep it within 4 points in the fourth, but turnovers quickly got in the way and players couldn't hit shots in the end.

The Sooners took this one 84 to 73. The Bears now turn their focus to play state rivals Texas Tech on Sunday when Brittney Griner's jersey will be retired.

AGGIES TO THE COMBINE

Five Aggies and one Baylor Bear are headed to Indianapolis!

They all secured their invite to the NFL combine.

A&M’s Ainias Smith, Layden Robinson, Mckinnley Jackson, Edgerrin Cooper, and  Demani Richardson; and Baylor's Gabe Hall will all have a chance to prove they belong in an NFL roster!

COWBOYS PRESENT ZIMMER

The Dallas Cowboys formally introduced the man who will lead their defense next season, Mike Zimmer.

It's now back to the future for the 67-year-old, as he returns to a team which he helped get a super bowl trophy.

Zimmer took a chance to clear his name yesterday

“There's a reputation out there that I'm a jerk or something like that, which it is what it is,” said Zimmer. “Since it was announced I was gonna be here, I've heard from so many players. I think if I was such a jerk I wouldn't be here in front of those guys."

RANGERS BACK TO SPRING TRAINING

The Rangers are starting from scratch, leaving the post world series celebrations on the back burner.

Pitchers and catchers are now in Arizona for spring training, and they’re getting ready to go get another title.
