WACO, Texas — On this week's episode of Locked on Baylor, KCEN's Sydney Wicker joins the host Cam Stuart to talk about the latest rumors of Baylor's defensive coordinator, and if there is an SEC bias toward bowl selections.
Reports have been circulating that Baylor defensive coordinator Matthew Powledge could be on the move to take over as the head coach at Sam Houston University. Powledge, an alumnus of Sam Houston, has been with Baylor since 2023. With head coach Dave Aranda starting to call the plays this season for the defense, is this a good time for them to go their separate ways?
Bowl games are losing their meaning. With only 12- teams competing for a national title any bowl game does not have as big of an impact as the College Football Playoffs, but with that is there a bias for SEC teams when it comes to determining this? And does that mean that a Texas Bowl victory for the Bears would mean more?
NIL deals continue to take over college sports with one latest BYU basketball commit. What does that mean for Baylor and do you think the Bears can keep up with the changing landscape?
