STATE CHAMPS BACK IN THE DIAMOND
In today’s Morning Playbook, the reigning state champs, China Spring, are back in the diamond.
They opened their season against Red Oak at Globe field up in Arlington, home of the World Series champs, Texas Rangers.
The Cougars knew how special that ballpark is and began their title defense in great style. China Spring wins the game 6 runs to one.
AGGIES BLOWN OUT BY LSU
In women’s college hoops, the Aggies faced off against Kim Mulkey and the LSU Tigers at home.
It’s never an easy matchup, and A&M without their starting point guard, Endyia Rogers, simply could not hang.
LSU fresh from a bye week held the Aggies to just 14 points in the first half. A&M loses this one, 58 to 81, and is now 5 and 7 in SEC play.
They’re back on the court on Thursday to play Arkansas.
GENO SECOND ALL-TIME WINS
Legendary coach for the UConn Huskies Geno Auriemma is now second in all-time division one wins.
With a win against Creighton last night he passed another great, former Duke men's coach K.
Auriemma's career tally is now 1,203, just behind Stanford's legend Tara Vadnerveer who holds the record with 1,209 and counting.
BAYLOR OL COACH LEAVING
In college football news, various reports say Baylor offensive line coach, Chris Kapilovic, is heading to Alabama after just two months with the bears.
He was hired to Dave Aranda's staff back in December, after spending the previous four seasons at Michigan state.
