TEMPLE, Texas — Jared Wiley's dreams have become a reality.
On Saturday, the Kansas City Chiefs selected the Temple, Texas native and former TCU tight end as the 131st overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft in Detroit.
With the first pick in the fourth round for the Chiefs, the TCU tight end joins a prolific offense led by star quarterback, Patrick Mahomes.
During his five years playing at the college level, Wiley snagged 90 passes for 1,013 yards and 15 touchdowns. He played a key role in the Horned Frogs run to a National Championship appearance in 2022 and now joins a very decorated professional program.
Before college, Wiley spent four years at Temple High School, serving as a QB and tight end with the Wildcats, sharing the field with former teammate and current Los Angeles Charger, Quentin Johnston.
The Chiefs are coming off of their second-straight Super Bowl title, hoping to run it back for year three. Wiley joins a tight end room with Travis Kelce, one of the best ends in the league.
