Lampasas beats Chaparral 63-20 to stay undefeated in 6 News' Game of the Week

The Badgers rallied behind great defense and QB play from Reed Jerome.

KILLEEN, Texas — Lampasas came into Chaparral and dominated them by a score of 63-20, sending Bobcat fans home disappointed with a loss on homecoming night.

Chaparral went into this game off to a hot 2-0 start, with their defense shining in the first two weeks only giving up six total points in those games combined.

However, it was the Badger defense that looked elite in this game, forcing two turnovers in the first half.

Lampasas QB Reed Jerome made sure the Chaparral mistakes turned into points too, as the Badgers had 14 points off of turnovers in the first half.

Chaparral was able to engineer one scoring drive in the first half after a touchdown catch by Triston Pezzelle, but Lampasas went on to score 21 more unanswered points.

The Badgers went into the half with a 42-6 lead.

Things did not get better for Chaparral early in the second half, their first two offensive drives resulted in back-to-back interceptions leading to another touchdown for Lampasas.

After the Badgers took a 49-6 lead, Chaparral's offense came alive, but it was much too late for any kind of real comeback.

Lampasas was able to chew the clock down in fourth quarter on their way to the 63-20 blowout win.

Chaparral heads into the bye week 2-1 after the tough loss, and will have some extra time to get back on track before their next game against Cedar Park.

Lampasas heads home next week after the impressive win to host Wimberly as they'll try to keep their undefeated season alive.
