Lorena Running Back Braylon Henry has had an impressive season so far.

LORENA, Texas — In a history-making game against Franklin in Week 8 of Friday Night Lights, Lorena Running Back Braylon Henry showed why he is a star for his team.

Henry helped snap Franklin's 39-game winning streak and snagged the statewide honor of the "Built Ford Tough Player of the Week" and yet, he still makes it known that his success is a result of his teammates' hard work.

"The only reason I had five touchdowns was our O-line. I couldn't do any of that stuff without our O-line and our coaches that believe in me," said Henry.

Head Coach Kevin Johnson says that's just who Braylon is.

"I feel like Braylon, much like his dad who was a great player here in Lorena, I think he's going to leave a legacy for others to follow. The big thing is he does it right in the classroom. He does it right on the field. Anything he does in life, he's doing it right. He's leading as a positive role model and example for others to follow," said Coach Johnson.

In his senior year, Henry continues working to be a good leader.

"Whenever someone is down I try to pick their head up or if someone is out of the building or having a hard day I'm going to talk them through it and make sure everything is alright," said Henry.

"Braylon is a phenomenal young man. He's a great athlete. He's an instinctual football player, excellent vision. He credits his teammates and he knows he can't do that without the help of his teammates, but the thing about Braylon is he is the true definition of a captain. He's a leader. He's like another coach out on the field for us. He's always helping out the younger players. He helps us out as well. Very proud of him," said Coach Johnson.

Winning state is on Henry's to-do list, but it isn't the only thing he's focused on for his final season with the Leopards.

"Our biggest goal is to win state, but that's really not what I want to leave. I want to leave hard work, can really pay off," said Braylon.
