ROUND ROCK, Texas — History has been made in Round Rock!
For the first time ever, Franklin baseball is your 3A state champions.
After taking down Gunter on Friday, the Lions punched their ticket to the state title game for the first time in school history.
Franklin got out to an early 4-1 lead before Brock answered the call tying it up in the third inning.
The Lions' bats come alive again in the seventh, racking in three more for Franklin to take the 7-4 lead just three outs away from a state title.
Head coach Matthew Anderson said, "There couldn't have been any other way to send these seniors out."
The Lions now make the trip back home to Franklin with their first state title in program history.
