WACO, Texas — It's been two weeks since the Baylor Lady Bears defeated Notre Dame to bring home their third national title, the first since 2012.
The Lady Bears and the City of Waco hosted a national championship parade on Thursday that followed with an autograph session. Fans got a chance to mingle with not only the current players and coaches but also a legendary special guest.
All-American and 2012 National Champion Odyssey Sims surprised fans on Thursday. Sims currently plays for the LA Sparks came back recently from playing overseas in Turkey, She knew she couldn't miss the opportunity to visit with the best fans in the country
Sims says watching the Final Four brought back so many good memories and she says it was great to get to see the 2019 team experience what she experienced seven years ago.
"I was just happy for Kim Mulkey. This team has been meaning to get one, especially with this group. I'm happy for the seniors especially. I was definitely very, very happy when I saw that they won," Odyssey Sims said.
Sims will be joined in LA by former Baylor Lady Bear Kalani Brown. Brown was drafted with the 7th overall pick by the Sparks in the 2019 WNBA Draft.
