3-year-old A&M fan honors Taurean York with school project

The 3-year-old went to his first Texas A&M game this fall and instantly fell in love with No. 21 and all things maroon and white.

TEMPLE, Texas — Monday through Friday as 3-year-old Rhett Evans and his mom Kaley drive to school, he asks for two songs to be played: The Aggie War Hymn and Power by Kanye West.

“I guess it’s a great way for him to start his day," said Kaley Evans.

The carpool morning karaoke all began after Rhett and his dad Michael attended the Texas A&M and Notre Dame game on Aug. 31.

Now, Rhett Evans loves everything maroon and white. He also loves sophomore captain linebacker and Temple native, Taurean York.

“Rhett thought it was really cool he knew someone on the football team,” Kaley Evans said.

The Evans family has always followed York's career and rooted for him, but now it's extra special that their son looks up to him. Enough so to include him in a school project.

Rhett was asked to disguise a turkey and could dress it up however he wanted. His mom suggested Spider-Man, but Rhett had other plans. He wanted his to be Taurean the Turkey, and he even included special touches.

“A trophy," said Rhett. "It was golden.”

The love for the Aggies runs in Evans' blood as his grandmother graduated from A&M and his dad is working to complete his masters from there. Rhett already plans on going to A&M when he goes to college.
