Breaking down the Central Texas high school football playoff picture

With one week left in the regular season, we look at the playoff picture for every team in Central Texas.

TEMPLE, Texas — Alas, Week 11 of is upon us.

The final week of the Texas high school football regular season means the last chance several teams have to make the playoffs and begin what they hope to be a march toward AT&T Stadium.

Some districts, in Central Texas (e.g.: District 8-2A Div. I) at least, know who's in and, barring a massive upset, know what seed lines those teams will be on.

Others, like District 12-6A or District 7-2A Div. I, have weird scenarios in play on the final two days of the regular season. So, we break down every single district in the area, from 6A to 6-man.

The list is numerical, by district, starting with 6A and working down to 1A Div. II.

* notes a team which has clinched a playoff spot
** notes a team which has been mathematically eliminated

District 12-6A

  1. Midway* (6-3, 6-1)
Midway clinched a playoff spot with a Thursday-night win at Shoemaker on a rainy Thursday. In spite of the Panthers' first district loss since 2013, a win or Temple loss clinches the No. 1-seed in the Div. II bracket for Midway, who has to go Div. II due to the schools in contention for the final spot in the district and Shoemaker having a larger enrollment, per the UIL. Friday's win against Temple should help Midway avoid a road trip to Longview in the first round, expect the Panthers to host either Tyler Lee or Mesquite Horn on Nov. 15th. However, they could still wind up making that trip if they lose to Belton AND Temple beats Copperas Cove.
    Week 11: @ Belton - Friday - 7:30 p.m.
  2. Temple* (7-2, 6-1)
The Wildcats were the first team to clinch in 12-6A, doing so with a 64-38 win at Ellison on Oct. 18th. Temple has to go the Div. II route, due to enrollment, and will likely head to defending state champion Longview in the first round due to Friday's result at Midway. However, a Temple win AND a Midway loss would send either Tyler Lee or Mesquite Horn to Wildcat Stadium Nov. 15th.
    Week 11: vs. Copperas Cove - Friday - 7:30 p.m.
  3. Shoemaker* (6-3, 5-2)
The Gray Wolved clinched in the most exciting way possible: a walk-off win in OT at Copperas Cove in Week 10. It's Shoemaker's first trip to the playoffs since 2015 and the first under third-year coach Toby Foreman, who re-built the program which entering 2019, had gone 2-28 from 2016-18, with both wins in 2018. Shoemaker has to go Div. I, meaning Friday's game against Harker Heights will likely be a win-or-go-to-Rockwall scenario. Shoemaker is, arguably, the story of the Central Texas High School Football season.
Week 11: vs. Harker Heights - Friday - 7:30 p.m. at Leo Buckley Stadium
  4. Harker Heights (4-5, 4-3)
Of the two teams still in contention, Heights is the only one in control of its destiny. A win, and the Knights are not only in, but the No. 1-seed in the Div. I bracket and likely to host. A loss to Shoemaker and the Knights need a Midway win at Belton to send the Knights to the playoffs, but they'll do it on the road, which means it'll be at Rockwall on Nov. 15th, against Ohio State-commit WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba.
    Week 11: @ Shoemaker - Friday - 7:30 p.m. at Leo Buckley Stadium
  5. Belton (3-6, 3-4)
Here is where it gets interesting. Belton enters Week 11 off a loss to Waco High. But, the Tigers can still get in with a win AND help. They need to beat Midway at home AND Shoemaker needs to beat Harker Heights. If both of those don't happen, Heights is in. If Belton were to get in, the Tigers would go Div. I, because Belton is the largest school in the district.
    Week 11: vs. Midway - Friday - 7:30 p.m.
  6. Ellison** (3-7, 3-5)
The Eagles are eliminated and their season over, as they have the Week 11 bye.
  7. Killeen** (2-7, 2-5)
The Kangaroos were eliminated Friday when Ellison beat them, 50-18, just two weeks after staying alive with a dominant win over Belton.
Week 11: vs. Waco High - Thursday - 7 p.m. at Leo Buckley Stadium
  8. Copperas Cove** (3-6, 2-5)
The same moment which sent Shoemaker into elation broke the hearts of Bulldawg Nation on Friday. When the Gray Wolves walked it off in OT, it mathematically eliminated the Bulldawgs from the picture.
    Week 11: @ Temple - Friday - 7:30 p.m.
  9. Waco High** (1-8, 1-6)
The Lions' Week 10 win against Belton is their first district win since jumping to 6A for the 2018 season.
    Week 11: @ Killeen - Thursday - 7 p.m. at Leo Buckley Stadium

District 5-5A Div. II

  1. Aledo* (7-1, 7-0)
There's a reason Aledo is almost the consensus pick to win 5A Div. II, again, this year.
    Week 11: @ Arlington Seguin - Friday - 7:30 p.m.
  2. Burleson Centennial* (9-1, 7-1)
The Spartan's lone loss of the year is to the defending (and likely repeat) state champs. Centennial could make a run, with a Week 11 bye.
  3. Midlothian* (7-2, 5-2)
The Panthers' lone losses are to who you think: Centennial and at Aledo. Once ranked, Midlothian is a dangerous No. 3-seed.
    Week 11: @ University - Friday - 7:30 p.m. at Waco ISD Stadium
  4. Burleson (5-4, 3-4)
Burleson probably needs help. The Elks' only three district wins are University, Seguin and Joshua. They lost to Everman, 45-28, on Oct. 18th, meaning the Bulldogs have that head-to-head, if needed. However, even a win in Week 11 would only send it to points, meaning it's not even a win-and-in scenario for the Elks.
    Week 11: @ Cleburne - Friday - 7:30 p.m.
  5. Cleburne (5-4, 3-4)
Weirdly enough, a win likely sends the Yellowjackets through, in spite of an Oct. 4th loss at Arlington Seguin. Cleburne beat Everman, 28-21, on Oct. 25th. So, even if the Bulldogs and Yellowjackets both win on Friday, Cleburne holds the head-to-head tiebreaker.
    Week 11: vs. Burleson - Friday - 7:30 p.m.
  6. Everman (3-6, 3-4)
Everman is in the hunt with a win AND help. The Bulldogs close with Joshua and have a head-to-head tiebreaker over Burleson, but not against Cleburne. They can only get in if Burleson beats Cleburne on Friday, based on the point differential, then (3-way tie). The Bulldogs hold a +8 (only goes up to 15 per game) differential against the two. A loss to Joshua, and the winner of Cleburne and Burleson goes.
    Week 11: @ Joshua - Friday - 7:30 p.m.
  7. University** (4-5, 2-5)
The Trojans were eliminated with a 65-7 loss at Everman on Friday.
Week 11: vs. Midlothian - Friday - 7:30 p.m. at Waco ISD Stadium
  8. Arlington Seguin** (1-8, 1-6)
    The Cougars are eliminated.
    Week 11: vs. Aledo - Friday - 7:30 p.m.
  9. Joshua** (1-8, 1-6)
    The Owls are eliminated.
    Week 11: vs. Everman - Friday - 7:30 p.m.

District 5-4A Div. I

  1. La Vega* (8-1, 3-0)
The Pirates wrapped up the No. 1-seed and district championship by going on the road and handing Brownwood its first loss of the year.
    Week 11: vs. Gatesville - Friday - 7 p.m.
  2. Brownwood* (8-1, 2-1)
The Lions just lost out on a district championship Friday. They can lock up the No. 2-seed with a win Friday.
    Week 11: @ China Spring - Friday - 7 p.m.
  3. Stephenville* (5-4, 2-2)
The Yellowjackets are done with their regular season schedule. They can get to the No. 2-seed if China Spring beats Brownwood at home, only if the point differential goes their way. Stephenville holds a zero point differential, should it wind up in a three-way tie with China Spring and Brownwood.
  4. China Spring* (3-6, 1-2)
Mathematically-speaking, the Cougars clinched during their bye, when Stephenville beat Gatesville, because China Spring holds the tiebreaker on Gatesville, in the event the Hornets pull the upset at La Vega.
    Week 11: vs. Brownwood - Friday - 7 p.m.
  5. Gatesville** (0-9, 0-3)
The Hornets were mathematically eliminated with Friday's loss to Stephenville.
    Week 11: @ La Vega - Friday - 7 p.m.

District 8-4A Div. II

  1. Connally* (9-0, 5-0)
The Cadets have the No. 1-seed wrapped up, with the head-to-head tie breaker against Mexia in-hand. Connally can clinch just its third 10-0 regular season in school history with a Week 11 win.
    Week 11: @ Robinson - Friday - 7:30 p.m.
  2. Mexia* (5-3, 4-1)
The Blackcats have a stifling defense which has contained everyone, thus far, except Connally (and Lorena, who they play Friday). With the head-to-head tiebreaker on both Salado and Fairfield, Mexia should have the No. 2-seed locked up. If you want to know just how much parity is in this district, Dave Campbell's Texas Football's computer projections have Mexia as just a 2-point favorite at Lorena, against a Leopard team eliminated from the playoffs.
    Week 11: @ Lorena - Friday - 7:30 p.m.
  3. Salado* (6-3, 3-2)
Salado locked up a playoff spot with a Week 9 win over Madisonville. The Mexia game (21-6, Mexia) was likely for the No. 2-seed. Salado can take the No. 3-seed with a home win over Fairfield in Week 11. The last time Salado made the playoffs, the Eagles made the 4A Div. II Region III Final against eventual state finalist West Orange-Stark.
    Week 11 vs. Fairfield - Friday - 7:30 p.m.
  4. Fairfield* (6-3, 3-2)
Fairfield locked up a playoff spot with Friday's win over Robinson. The Eagles head to Salado to play for the No. 3-seed Friday.
    Week 11: @ Salado - Friday - 7:30 p.m.
  5. Lorena** (5-4, 2-3)
The Leopards were hit hard by injuries, just a year removed from a run to the Region II semifinals. It's probably safe to say Lorena is, pound-for-pound, the best team in the state that won't be in the playoffs.
    Week 11: vs. Mexia - Friday - 7:30 p.m.
  6. Robinson** (5-4, 1-4)
Unfortunately, Friday's game against Fairfield was for the Rockets to stay alive for a playoff spot.
    Week 11: vs. Connally - Friday - 7:30 p.m.
  7. Madisonville** (2-8, 0-6)
The Mustangs were eliminated by a loss to Robinson on Oct. 18th and their regular season schedule is finished, as Madisonville drew the Week 11 bye.

District 9-3A Div. I

  1. Whitney* (8-1, 5-0)
The Wildcats shocked the state by rallying to upset defending state champion and top-ranked Grandview on Friday to clinch the No. 1-seed.
    Week 11: @ Groesbeck - Friday - 7:30 p.m.
  2. Grandview* (8-1, 4-1)
The Zebras are probably still the favorites to repeat in 3A Div. I. Grandview was the No. 2-seed out of this district, via an OT loss to West, when it won it all in 2018.
    Week 11: vs. Maypearl - Friday - 7:30 p.m.
  3. Teague* (4-5, 3-2)
The Lions are in the playoffs. For Teague, it's simple: beat West on Friday, you're the No. 3-seed.
    Week 11: vs. West - Friday - 7:30 p.m.
  4. West* (3-6, 3-2)
The Trojans are in. For West, it's also simple: beat Teague on Friday and you're the No. 3-seed. Whoever loses that game gets to face 9-1 Troy in the first round.
    Week 11: @ Teague - Friday - 7:30 p.m.
  5. McGregor** (4-6, 2-4)
The Bulldogs are eliminated and their regular season over with a Week 11 bye.
  6. Maypearl** (3-6, 1-4)
    The Panthers are eliminated.
    Week 11: @ Grandview - Friday - 7:30 p.m.
  7. Groesbeck** (2-7, 0-5)
    The Goats are eliminated.
    Week 11: vs. Whitney - Friday - 7:30 p.m.

District 10-3A Div. I

  1. Troy* (9-1, 6-0)
The Trojans are outright district champions and will draw the loser of West-Teague in the first round, off a Week 11 bye. A year ago, as the No. 2-seed, Troy beat Teague in the first round.
  2. Cameron Yoe* (8-1, 4-1)
The Yoemen will determine how crazy the seeding situation gets from No. 2 through No. 4. If Yoe beats Lago Vista, it locks the Yoemen into the No. 2-seed, Rockdale into the No. 3 and Lago Vista into the No. 4. If Lago Vista beats Yoe, it sends the Yoemen, Tigers and Vikings into a point-differential tiebreaker because, at that point, Yoe would have beat Rockdale, which beat Lago Vista, which (if this plays out this way) beat Yoe.
    Week 11: @ Lago Vista - Friday - 7:30 p.m.
  3. Rockdale* (7-2, 3-2)
Rockdale can only lose the No. 3-seed if Lago Vista beats Yoe and the point differential swings the Tigers one way or the other. The Tigers beat the Vikings, 52-28, on Oct. 11th. Should it go to point differential with Lago Vista and Yoe, the Tigers would have a zero differential (+15 vs. LV, -15 vs. Yoe)
    Week 11: vs. Academy - Friday- 7:30 p.m.
  4. Lago Vista* (6-3, 3-2)
The Vikings can make this whole picture a giant mess with a win over Cameron Yoe (see Cameron Yoe synopsis above). If the Vikings lose Friday, they're still playoff-bound, but no better than the No. 4-seed, which faces Whitney in the first round.
    Week 11: vs. Cameron Yoe - Friday - 7:30 p.m.
  5. Jarrell** (4-5, 1-4)
    The Cougars are eliminated.
    Week 11: @ Manor New Tech - Friday - 7:30 p.m.
  6. Academy** (2-7, 1-4)
    The Bumblebees are eliminated.
    Week 11: @ Rockdale - Friday - 7:30 p.m.
  7. Manor New Tech** (1-8, 0-5)
    The Titans are eliminated.
    Week 11: vs. Jarrell - Friday - 7:30 p.m.

District 8-3A Div. II

  1. Rogers* (9-0, 3-0)
The Eagles have been a buzz-saw all season, taking down Crawford and 9-1 Bruceville-Eddy along the way. Rogers still needs to beat Clifton to lock up the No. 1-seed, otherwise, it goes to points and gets crazy.
    Week 11: vs. Clifton - Friday - 7:30 p.m.
  2. Lexington* (3-7, 3-1)
These Eagles still have a shot at the No. 1-seed, should Clifton win at Rogers on Friday and the point differential tie-breaker goes their way. Lexington, which has the Week 11 bye, is +7 against the two (-8 vs. Rogers, +15 vs. Clifton)
  3. Clifton* (6-3, 2-1)
The Cubs can make it interesting with a win at Rogers in Week 11, which would send it to points. The Cubs lost to Lexington, 29-13, on Oct. 18th.
    Week 11: @ Rogers - Friday - 7:30 p.m.
  4. Hamilton (5-4, 0-3)
Hamilton is in with a win against Florence at home Friday. A loss sends the Bulldogs home and to 2A Div. I next season.
    Week 11: vs. Florence - Friday - 7:30 p.m.
  5. Florence (1-8, 0-3)
The Buffaloes are in with a win at Hamilton on Friday. Thus far, Florence's only win this season is against 2A Div. II Chilton.
    Week 11: @ Hamilton - Friday - 7:30 p.m.

District 7-2A Div. I

  1. San Saba* (9-0, 4-0)
The Armadilloes have, quite possibly, the most brutal defense in 2A, having only allowed 37 points in 9 games, of which, Crawford accounts for 28. San Saba has the No. 1-seed locked up and will face either Bosqueville or Riesel in the first round.
    Week 11: @ De Leon - Friday - 7:30 p.m.
  2. Crawford* (6-3, 3-1)
The Pirates are the closest thing San Saba has had to a challenger all year and the only offense to score in double-figures on the Armadilloes. With head-to-head tie-breakers against both Valley Mills and De Leon in-hand, Crawford has the No. 2-seed locked up and will face either Bosqueville or Riesel in the first round.
    Week 11: vs. Hico - Friday - 7:30 p.m.
  3. Valley Mills (5-4, 2-2)
The Eagles are the only of the three teams still alive for the No.'s 3- and 4-seeds who can control their own destiny. A win over Goldthwaite at home Friday locks Valley Mills into the No. 3-seed, with a 21-0 Oct. 18th win over De Leon in-hand. A loss to Goldthwaite sends it to points.
    Week 11: vs. Goldthwaite - Friday - 7:30 p.m.
  4. De Leon (3-6, 2-2)
The Bearcats would like to see Valley Mills beat Goldthwaite, which would clinch the No. 4-seed for them, no matter the result of their game against San Saba. If Goldthwaite beats Valley Mills, it sends it to point-differential and the Bearcats hold a zero differential against the two.
    Week 11: vs. San Saba - Friday - 7:30 p.m.
  5. Goldthwaite (2-7, 1-3)
The Eagles can make the No.'s 3- and 4-seeds a mess with a win at Valley Mills. That would put Goldthwaite, Valley Mills and De Leon in a three-way tie and send it to points. Goldthwaite's problem, then, is it got blown out by De Leon.
    Week 11: @ Valley Mills - Friday - 7:30 p.m.
  6. Hico** (0-9, 0-4)
The Tigers are the only team in the district eliminated, entirely, from playoff contention.
    Week 11: @ Crawford - Friday - 7:30 p.m.

District 8-2A Div. I

  1. Bruceville-Eddy* (9-1, 6-0)
The Eagles are outright district champions for the first time in 40 years and won nine games for the first time in school history. Their lone loss: 3A Div. II No. 4 Rogers. B-E has a Week 11 bye before facing either Valley Mills, De Leon or Goldthwaite in the first round.
  2. Italy* (6-3, 4-1)
The Gladiators can lock up the No. 2-seed win a win, thanks to a one-point OT win at Bosqueville on Oct. 4th. However, a loss would send it to points. At that point, if Riesel beats Italy, the Gladiators would drop from No. 2 to No. 4.
    Week 11: @ Riesel - Friday - 7:30 p.m.
  3. Bosqueville* (4-5, 3-2)
The Bulldogs are in and can lock up the No. 3-seed with a win OR a Riesel loss. If Bosqueville and Riesel win, that would send Italy, Bosqueville and Riesel to points, which would give the Bulldogs the edge, since Bosqueville only lost to Italy by one and beat Riesel 49-29.
    Week 11: vs. Axtell - Friday - 7:30 p.m.
  4. Riesel* (4-5, 3-2)
The Indians are in after a Week 10 win over Itasca. Riesel needs a win to force, at least, a point-differential tiebreak. A win and Bosqueville loss would catapult Riesel from No. 4 to No. 2. If both Bosqueville and Riesel win, Riesel would likely jump from No. 4 to No. 3, dropping Italy from No. 2 to No. 4.
    Week 11: vs. Italy - Friday - 7:30 p.m.
  5. Itasca** (3-6, 1-4)
    The Wampus Cats are eliminated.
    Week 11: @ Moody - Friday - 7:30 p.m.
  6. Moody** (2-7, 1-4)
    The Bearcats are eliminated.
    Week 11: vs. Itasca - Friday - 7:30 p.m.
  7. Axtell** (1-8, 0-5)
    The Longhorns are eliminated.
    Week 11: @ Bosqueville - Friday - 7:30 p.m.

District 13-2A Div. I

  1. Holland* (9-0, 5-0)
The Hornets wrapped up the No. 1-seed with what could, very well, be the best season in school history. Holland took down powers Mart and Crawford along the way.
    Week 11: vs. Milano - Friday - 7:30 p.m.
  2. Thorndale* (7-2, 4-1)
The Bulldogs are in and have the No. 2-seed, thanks to an Oct. 25th win over Hearne.
    Week 11: vs. Marlin - Friday - 7:30 p.m.
  3. Hearne* (5-4, 3-2)
The Eagles are in and have the No. 3-seed locked up, thanks to a win over Thrall and loss to Thorndale.
    Week 11: @ Rosebud-Lott - Friday - 7:30 p.m.
  4. Thrall* (6-4, 3-3)
The Tigers are in and likely locked into the No. 4-seed, with a Week 11 bye.
  5. Marlin** (2-7, 2-3)
Don't let the Bulldogs' record full you. Even though Marlin is eliminated from playoff contention, the Bulldogs snapped a 15-game losing streak which dated back to their final game in 3A: the 2017 3A Div. II Bi-district round against Clifton.
    Week 11: @ Thorndale - Friday - 7:30 p.m.
  6. Milano** (1-8, 1-4)
    The Eagles are eliminated.
    Week 11: @ Holland - Friday - 7:30 p.m.
  7. Rosebud-Lott** (0-9, 0-5)
The Cougars are eliminated and could potentially jump to 3A Div. II next year.
    Week 11: vs. Hearne - Friday - 7:30 p.m.

District 11-2A Div. II

  1. Mart* (6-3, 4-0)
The Panthers are the definition of a team better than its record indicates, with their three losses coming to 2A Div. I No. 7 Holland, at 3A Div. I Franklin and at 2A Div. I No. 1 Refugio. Mart's defense has scary good as the Panthers have the No. 1-seed locked up, with head-to-head against both Dawson and Wortham already in-hand.
    Week 11: @ Frost - Friday - 7:30 p.m.
  2. Dawson* (7-2, 3-1)
Dawson is in the playoffs and a Week 11 win will give it the No. 2-seed out of District 11.
    Week 11: vs. Wortham - Friday - 7:30 p.m.
  3. Wortham* (7-2, 3-1)
Wortham is in the exact same situation as Dawson, a win in Week 11 wraps up the No. 2-seed and a loss sends them to the 3-line.
    Week 11: @ Dawson - Friday - 7:30 p.m.
  4. Frost* (4-5, 2-2)
The Polar Bears are in and locked into the No. 4-seed, with losses to both Dawson and Wortham.
    Week 11: vs. Mart - Friday - 7:30 p.m.
  5. Hubbard** (4-5, 0-4)
The Jaguars have dropped five of their last six, after starting 3-0, and are eliminated.
    Week 11: vs. Meridian - Friday - 7:30 p.m.
  6. Meridian** (0-9, 0-4)
    The Yellowjackets are eliminated.
    Week 11: @ Hubbard - Friday - 7:30 p.m.

District 13-2A Div. II

  1. Bremond* (9-1, 4-0)
The Tigers look like the Bremond of old, with their only loss coming at 3A Div. II Hamilton. Bremond's closest district game was a 40-22 win at Bartlett to start. Bremond has a Week 11 bye.
  2. Granger* (6-3, 2-1)
The Lions are in the playoffs and play for seeding Friday. A win, Granger is the No. 2-seed. A loss, it's the No. 3-seed.
    Week 11: @ Chilton - Friday - 7:30 p.m.
  3. Chilton* (6-3, 2-1)
The Pirates made the playoffs in 2018 at 1-9, because of a win over Bartlett. This year, Chilton's only losses are Bremond and two schools in bigger classifications (at 2A Div. I Bruceville-Eddy and vs. 3A Div. II Anderson-Shiro). Now, a win Friday and the Pirates are the No. 2-seed in this year's bracket.
    Week 11: vs. Granger - Friday - 7:30 p.m.
  4. Iola (3-6, 0-3)
The Bulldogs haven't won since Sept. 20th (14-3 vs. Milano) but can still make the playoffs if they win Friday.
    Week 11: vs. Bartlett - Friday - 7:30 p.m.
  5. Bartlett (0-9, 0-3)
Bartlett lost its coach in mid-July and hired former Liberty Hill assistant Brian Kozma about two weeks before fall practice opened, which most teams would struggle through. The Bulldogs can still get into the playoffs if they win at Iola on Friday.
    Week 11: @ Iola - Friday - 7:30 p.m.

In 6-man football, two teams make the playoffs per district, and state finalists get a pseudo-bye between the semifinals and state championship games at AT&T Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.

We crunched the numbers for the 6-man teams in Central Texas to paint the playoff picture, too.

District 10-1A Div. I (6-man)

  1. Blum* (8-2, 4-0)
The Bobcats are enjoying the best season in school history and are in the playoffs, with a Week 11 bye, having won eight in a row. Blum's only losses were Week 1 against defending state champion McLean and at power Jonesboro in Week 2.
  2. Aquilla (3-6, 2-1)
The Cougars are the only of the three teams in the hunt to have their playoff fate entirely in their control. A Week 11 win, they're in. A loss sends Abbott, Covington and Aquilla to a tiebreak.
    Week 11: @ Abbott - Friday - 7:30 p.m.
  3. Abbott (3-6, 1-2)
The Panthers are in the hunt, but need a win AND a Covington loss to Gholson to guarantee a spot. A win and Covington win sends the Panthers, Aquilla and Covington to tiebreak.
    Week 11: vs. Aquilla - Friday - 7:30 p.m.
  4. Covington (7-2, 1-2)
The Owls' lone district win, thus far, is against Abbott. A Win and Abbott win sends Covington, Abbott and Aquilla to tiebreak. Mathematically, there isn't a situation for Covington to get into the playoffs that doesn't involve tiebreakers.
    Week 11: @ Gholson - Friday - 7:30 p.m.
  5. Gholson** (5-4, 0-3)
    The Wildcats are eliminated.
    Week 11: vs. Covington - Friday - 7:30 p.m.

District 11-1A Div. I (6-man)

  1. Avalon* (9-0, 2-0)
The Eagles are ranked 10th, according to Dave Campbell's Texas Football, and can clinch the No. 1-seed from District 11 with a win Friday.
    Week 11.
    Week 11: vs. Milford - Friday - 7:30 p.m.
  2. Milford* (7-2, 2-0)
A year removed from an appearance in the state championship game, the Bulldogs are headed back to the playoffs. A Week 11 win puts Milford in the No. 1-seed. The loser of Milford and Avalon will be the No. 2-seed.
    Week 11: @ Avalon - Friday - 7:30 p.m.
  3. Coolidge** (5-4, 0-2)
    The Yellowjackets are eliminated.
    Week 11: vs. Penelope - Friday - 7:30 p.m.
  4. Penelope** (3-5, 0-2)
    The Wolverines are eliminated.
    Week 11: @ Coolidge - Friday - 7:30 p.m.

District 15-1A Div. I (6-man)

  1. Jonesboro (8-1, 2-0)
The Eagles look impressive, with mercy-rule wins over Aquilla, Lometa and Zephyr. Jonesboro's lone loss is a 17-0 loss at Coolidge on Sept. 20th. Jonesboro should make it, but a win Friday would lock it in and lock it into the No. 1-seed.
    Week 11: vs. Evant - Friday - 7:30 p.m.
  2. Evant (5-4, 1-1)
Last year's district champion needs a win to lock the Elks into the playoffs, and that's not a guarantee. That would just send Jonesboro, Evant and Zephyr to tiebreak, as Jonesboro has a win over Zephyr and Zephyr a win over Evant, already.
    Week 11: @ Jonesboro - Friday - 7:30 p.m.
  3. Zephyr (3-6, 1-1)
A Bulldog win on Friday keeps them, at the very least, in the picture. If Jonesboro beats Evant, Zephyr just needs a win to lock in the No. 2-seed.
    Week 11: vs. Lometa - Friday - 7:30 p.m.
  4. Lometa** (3-6, 0-2)
    The Hornets are eliminated.
    Week 11: @ Zephyr - Friday - 7:30 p.m.

District 12-1A Div. II (6-man)

  1. Bynum (5-3, 2-0)
A win, Bynum is in and the No. 1-seed. A loss, coupled with a Morgan win, sends Bynum, Morgan and Mount Calm to tiebreak.
    Week 11: @ Mount Calm - Friday - 7:30 p.m.
  2. Morgan (2-7, 1-1)
A win and the Eagles are in. A loss, though, may not eliminate them. If Morgan loses in Week 11 and Bynum beats Mount Calm, then Mount Calm, Morgan and Kopperl go to tiebreak.
    Week 11: vs. Kopperl - Friday - 7:30 p.m.
  3. Mount Calm (2-7, 1-1)
Mount Calm needs a win or Morgan loss to stay alive. If both were to happen, the Panthers would clinch the No. 1-seed.
    Week 11: vs. Bynum - Friday - 7:30 p.m.
  4. Kopperl (1-7, 0-2)
For the Eagles, there is no path that doesn't include a tiebreak. But to get there, they need to beat Morgan on Friday. A loss to Morgan eliminates Kopperl

District 14-1A Div. II (6-man)

  1. Calvert (6-3, 2-0)
A win Friday and the Trojans are in and the No. 1-seed. A loss likely sends it to tiebreak, should Buckholts beat Oglesby, too. An Oglesby win over Buckholts locks Calvert into the playoffs.
    Week 11: vs. McDade - Friday - 7:30 p.m.
  2. Buckholts (3-6, 1-1)
A win over Oglesby and, at the very least, the Badgers are in a tiebreak. A win coupled with a Calvert win sends Buckholts dancing as the No. 2-seed.
    Week 11: @ Oglesby - Friday - 7:30 p.m.
  3. McDade (3-5, 1-1)
The Bulldogs need a win to force a tiebreak with Calvert and Buckholts. A loss eliminates McDade, should Buckholts beat Oglesby.
    Week 11: @ Calvert - Friday - 7:30 p.m.
  4. Oglesby (1-7, 0-2)
The Tigers need a win to retain a chance, but would also need Calvert to beat McDade to force a tiebreak. If Calvert loses, Oglesby is eliminated. A loss to Buckholts also eliminates the Tigers.
    Week 11: vs. Buckholts - Friday - 7:03 p.m.
