WACO, Texas — After a double-overtime win in the first game as a ranked team under coach Matt Rhule, the Baylor Bears have moved higher in both national polls.
When the Associated Press released its rankings for Week 8 of the college football season, the Bears had moved up from No. 22 to No. 18. The Bears are tied with Cincinnati for the biggest riser from Week 7 in this week's AP Top 25.
Also in the AP Top 25, Texas dropped from No. 11 to No. 15 following its Red River Showdown loss to No. 6 Oklahoma on Saturday. The Sooners are up to No. 5.
No other Big 12 teams are ranked, however, Iowa State did receive votes after back-to-back wins over TCU (49-24 on Oct. 5th) and West Virginia, which the Cyclones beat on the road Saturday, 38-14.
Texas A&M drops from the Top 25, but still received votes, following the Aggies' 47-28 loss to No. 1 Alabama at Kyle Field on Saturday.

In the latest Coaches Poll, also released Sunday, it's more-or-less the same. Baylor climbed five spots from No. 23 to No. 18, tied with Minnesota for second-biggest riser from Week 7 to Week 8. Only Arizona State (No. 24 to No. 17) rose more spots from Week 7 to Week 8.
Texas dropped an identical four spots with Texas A&M, again, dropping from the Top 25, but still receiving votes.
