Texas A&M falls to Tennessee in College World Series Championship Series

The Vols pulled away from the Aggies 6-5 to take home their first ever National Championship.

OMAHA, Texas — Texas A&M Baseball is taking home the silver in the College World Series, falling to Tennessee in Game 3 of the Championship Series on Monday, June 24.

Both teams were competing for their first-ever National Championship title and both teams had scored a victory in the series leading up to the climactic Game 3. A&M took Game One 9-5, with Tennessee getting the win in Game Two 4-1.

The Vols were hot early on in the game, with a home run from Christian Moore putting them ahead in the first inning, but the Aggies tied it up in the third with an RBI from Gavin Grahovac.

The Vols continued to stay strong however, retaking the lead in the bottom of the third with two more runs and three in the seventh to take the score to 6-1.

The Aggies made a valiant return in the eighth, scoring two more runs to bring it back to 6-3, but were ultimately unable to make up the ground, despite bringing it back within one in the ninth.

Tennessee took home the win 6-5.
