WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — Boerne Little League didn't look like a team that had never made it to the Little League World Series on Thursday as they breezed past Pennsylvania with power at the plate and aces on the mound, winning 9-0.

The team combined for a total of 12 hits, with three of those leaving the yard and one bringing in four runs after Kole Newsom smacked a grand slam in the top of the fifth inning.

The bats weren't the only thing on fire as the arms on the mound for Boerne shut things down on the defensive side, only allowing a total of two hits. Caden Guffey got things started by pitching two shutout innings before reliever Julian Hurst came in and mowed down Pennsylvania's lineup the rest of the way, striking out 10 of the 12 batters he faced.

Boerne will next take the diamond on Monday at 6 p.m., where they will play the winner of a matchup between Florida and Washington, who play at 6 p.m. Friday.
