BELTON, Texas — Belton High School football is on a winning streak this season and Quarterback Reese Rumfield is a big part of why that success is happening.
Rumfield is quick to tell you, it's the team that helps make plays such as the three touchdowns he scored over University for the District Championship.
"We're really close to each other and we all want to play for each other. We all hate losing," Rumfield said.
During the game, Rumfield also completed 13 passes for 155 yards and rushed 22 times for 160 yards to help the Tigers post a victory over the Trojans.
"It seems like you grind so hard to get here and when you get it, you can enjoy it and let the kids have a good time," Head Football Coach Brett Sniffin said. "You go out and try to win one. Try to win the next one and keep grinding from there."
Rumfield, now a senior at Belton HIgh School, says he hopes to leave a lasting impact on the program.
"I love the bond from football that you make, it's real competitive. We can bring it all to the football field and then be nice outside of football," said Rumfield.
"He's a nice kid. He treats everybody the same whether they're 3rd string, 4th string, JV, freshman and I think that's a natural leadership quality," Sniffin said.
