Wife of Cedric Marks, man accused of killing Temple friends, to be released on bond in obstruction of justice arrest

Ginell McDonough, 37, is accused of allowing Cedric Marks and a woman named Maya Maxwell, 26, to stay with her in her rented home from Jan. 5 to Jan. 9.

TEMPLE, Texas — The wife of a man accused of killing two Temple friends, Jenna Scott and Micheal Swearingin, is set to be freed from jail on bond Friday after being charged with harboring a fugitive.

Ginell McDonough, 37, is accused of allowing her husband, Cedric Marks, and a woman named Maya Maxwell, 26, to stay with her in her rented home from Jan. 5 to Jan. 9.

Muskegon County officials said their fugitive team arrested McDonough and Maxwell Jan. 11.

McDonough told a judge in Muskegon County, Michigan last month that she is an Army Staff Sergeant. The judge set her bond at $75,000 at the time.

Marks was arrested Jan. 8 near Grand Rapids, Michigan for breaking into Scott's Temple home in August. 2018.

Marks was later charged with murder in connection with deaths of Scott and Swearingin.

McDonough is expected to be released on $10,000 bond.

Prosecutor Matt Roberts said McDonough's release hinges on her being able to cover the cost of a GPS tether ankle bracelet.

Her bond was reduced on Thursday despite objections from the prosecution, Roberts said.

The next step in the process will be a pre-trial hearing in which she will either enter a plea or choose to go to trial.

That hearing is expected in about a month.
