Bell County's district attorney announces retirement

In 2001, Henry Garza was sworn in as the District Attorney for Bell County, starting a 23-year journey of service to the community

BELL COUNTY, Texas — After four decades of service to the citizens of Bell County, including 23 years as the District Attorney, Henry Garza has announced his retirement.

In 2001, Garza was sworn in as the District Attorney for Bell County, starting a 23-year journey of service to the community. Having been elected six times to serve in this role, he has now chosen not to seek a seventh term of office.

As Garza steps down, he extends his heartfelt thanks to the citizens of Bell County for their support and encouragement throughout these many years.

"It has truly been an honor and privilege to serve you", said Grza. He also acknowledged the trust placed in him with immense gratitude.

Garza credits his staff for sharing this passion and working diligently alongside him to achieve these goals.

Garza also extends his deep appreciation to the law enforcement partners who have worked in cooperation to serve the community and keep it safe. 

As he reflects on his career, Garza expresses his gratitude for the opportunity to represent Bell County as its District Attorney. He acknowledges the privilege of serving alongside a community that has left a lasting impact on his life.

Together, Garza and his wife extend their thanks and appreciation to everyone who has been a part of their journey over these many years.
