MOUND - Severe Flooding continued to impact people living along the Leon River Monday. Mound residents say they've never seen the area flood as much as it is right now. The flooding shut down one of the main roads that goes through the town. Many residents say they use that road to get to work and now have to drive 8 additional miles to get to where they're headed safely. Some say all the extra driving is costly and frustrating.

"It's extremely expensive. There's more mileage and more gas. My husband is disabled and wants his paper in the morning and sometimes it's like three or four o'clock before our mail is even delivered" says Mound resident Ellen Gummelt.

It's a situation that many people are still trying to make sense of.

"This is epic. This has not happened in the past. Maybe once or twice in the last 50 or 60 years but not anything as bad as it is right now" says Coryell County Emergency Management Director Bob Harrell.

Harrell says he is now in the process of planning disaster preparedness classes for residents. The classes will take place in July.
