6 News spoke with candidates Hillary Hickland, Pat Curry and Brad Buckley on election night.

"Such an honor," Hickland told 6 News. "And this is my home so the issues that are affecting me are shared by everyone in our community. They are concerned about border security, high property taxes, making sure our kids have opportunities in the future, so they are shared issues and I am honored to carry those issues to Austin."

"I want to say thanks to all the folks that have supported me over the years," Buckley said. "We have, we've been on the ground, not only working on legislation, but also providing constituent services. We met with so many constituents and their families about problems they were having, connected them with the services they need and when re-elected, we will do the same thing. We continue working hard for everyone in House District 54 and the state of Texas."

"You know, I'm so proud of McLennan County for coming out and voting and I've got to tell you, every vote counts," said Curry. "Your vote counts every time and I just have to tell you it's amazing in talking to the voters at the polls and all the things we've learned. No matter what way you vote, this country is red, white and blue."
