LIMESTONE COUNTY, Texas — As early voting continues into the weekend, Limestone County Elections Administration is looking to provide assurance to its voters. They posted voting recommendations and described preparations taken ensure the accuracy of their voting machines to Facebook on Thursday.
Copied from the Facebook post:
- ALWAYS use the Review screen as a chance to check your choices. This gives you one more to chance ensure your ballot has been marked correctly.
- If you see ANY inconsistency on your ballot, stop where you are and speak to an election worker before going any further on your ballot.
- Once you have hit the confirmation button, your ballot has been cast. ASK ANY QUESTIONS YOU HAVE *BEFORE* PRESSING CONFIRM.
- Again, I encourage EVERYONE to check their ballot choices before pressing confirm. I want you to be as confident in your vote as I am that the voting machines are working correctly.
- Stylus pens used for the touchscreen are made of plastic and rubber. They are simply a marking utensil and have no effect on the voting machine otherwise.
Additionally, the post dives into the preparation made by Limestone County.
Limestone County states all voting machines were tested prior to the beginning of voting. None of the machines were connected to the internet in any form, with the only plug being connected to a power outlet. While doing so, no errors were found. In addition, special security measures were performed to discover any form of manipulation.
