TEMPLE, Texas — After weeks and weeks of preparation, polling and debating, the ballots are open and Texans can have their voice heard for who they want in the U.S. Senate. Republican incumbent Ted Cruz and Democratic Congressman Colin Allred headline this race.
Cruz, who lives in Houston, has been in the U.S. Senate since 2013. He beat Democrat Paul Sadler to win his first Senate seat in 2012. Allred, a Dallas native, has been in the U.S. House since 2019. He won against Republican representatives Genevieve Collins and Antonio Sward in 2020 and 2022, respectively.
