BELTON, Texas — The Bell County Bar Association will host its 2024 Candidate Forum on Friday, Feb. 9, giving residents a chance to hear from the candidates that will be on this year's ballot.
The event will run from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Bell County Courthouse, located at 1201 Huey Road in Belton, Texas.
The forum is free to attend and open to the public.
Candidates for six different offices are scheduled to be at the forum. Scheduled candidates include:
Bell County Sheriff:
- William (Bill) Cooke
- Fred Harris
- Frank Hernandez
Bell County District Attorney:
- James "J" Stapler
- Jeff Parker
- Stephanie Newell
27th District Court:
- Cheyenne Minick
- Debbie Garrett
146th District Court:
- Mike Russell
- Ashley Clapper-Bennett
3rd Court of Appeals:
- Thomas Baker
- Melissa Lorber
- Karin Crump
State Rep. District 55:
- Hillary Hickland
- Davis Ford
- Jorge Estrada
- Hugh Shine
The Bell County Bar Association said all are welcome to attend the event "to see what you think of the candidates that will shape Bell County for the next 4-6 years."
Monday, Feb. 5 was the deadline to register to vote for the primary election. Primary election day is March 5.
