WACO, Texas — An off-duty officer with the Waco Police Department was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after he was involved in a crash Saturday, according to WPD.
Investigators determined the officer, identified as 29-year-old Paul Scrivner, was driving one of the vehicles involved in the non-injury crash at Bosque and Hwy. 6 around 5:30 p.m., WPD officials said.
Scrivner was suspected to be under the influence of alcohol and was arrested for driving while intoxicated, officials said. He was taken for medical clearance then transported to the McLennan County Jail.
A criminal investigation is ongoing. The Waco Police Department's Professional Conduct and Standards Unit will conduct a separate investigation into the officer's conduct, according to the department.
