FORT HOOD, Texas — A new era has started on Fort Hood following an Assumption of Responsibility of III Corps Command Sergeant Major Daniel T. Hendrex Friday morning.
"To come here and be a Phantom Warrior 7, a Corp. Command Sergeant Major in Fort Hood, Texas, it's a pretty special day," CSM Hendrex said.
CSM Hendrex began his career in the Army back in 1990 and comes to Central Texas after serving as a Senior Enlisted Leader for the 3rd Infantry Division at Fort Stewart, Georgia.
When asked his message to the soldiers of Fort Hood on his first day, CSM Hendrex said he's never the world in a more chaotic state, so being ready is a priority.
"Being ready today. Readiness from physical fitness to training to the preparedness that goes into being able to do what we were designed to do," he said. "We're designed for the away game so you have to be prepared to deploy and you have be prepared today."
Hendrex also adds the Phantom Warriors are designed for a singular purpose and that's to fight and win wars for the U.S.
