WACO, Texas — The Department of Veterans Affairs' is hosting an event to help Central Texas veterans this November.
The Heart of Texas Veteran Benefits & Resources Expo will be held at the Waco Convention Center on Nov. 19 and 20, according to the VA, and will offer multiple services to veterans, servicemembers and families.
During the 2-day event, veterans will be able to file VA benefit claims, speak one-on-one with benefits representatives, access veteran resources and information, discuss education and career opportunities with experts, check-in with staff at a VA mobile clinic, network with potential employers, get help with resumes and interview skills and more all in one location, said the VA.
Admission to the event and parking are reportedly free to all guests. The expo will run from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Waco Convention Center, located at 100 Washington Avenue.
Another event, the VA Benefits and Employment Fair, targeted at helping homeless and at-risk veterans, will also be held from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on Nov. 21 at the Veterans One Stop, located at 2010 LaSalle Ave., Suite A in Waco.

"With these two events, we can assist Texas Veterans take advantage of the benefits they have earned with their dedicated military service to our country,” said VA’s Executive Director of Transition, Outreach & Economic Development Melissa Cohen. “Plus, it is the perfect opportunity for them to connect with employers looking to hire Veterans because of their unique experience and knowledge."
