Woodway Public Safety Department announced their new public safety director Wednesday.Assistant Police Chief, Bret Crook was promoted to Director of Public Safety for the city of Woodway.
As Assistant Chief, Crook was responsible for the development and training of the department’s personnel and oversaw the daily operations of the department.
The interim city manager said they are fortunate to have an officer like Chief Crook in the organization with the skills necessary to take the leadership role of the department.
Crook is replacing former Public Safety Director Yost Zachary, who was also Woodway’s City Manager. Zachary resigned from both positions amid a sexual harassment lawsuit filed by an employee.
