KILLEEN, Texas — A woman was taken to the hospital in critical condition after an officer-involved shooting in Killeen, TX, according to the Killeen Police Department.
According to Assistant Chief Alex Gearhart, officers were dispatched to the 800 block of Adela Street at approximately 12:24 p.m. in reference to an alleged burglary of a home in progress.
Gearhart said when the officers arrived, they encountered a female suspect.
During the confrontation between the officers and the suspect, an officer shot the woman with his duty weapon, Gearhart said.
The woman was reportedly airlifted to Baylor Scott & White in critical condition. Gearhart said no officers were injured in the incident.
