WACO, Texas — Waco community members have gathered at Indian Spring Park in Waco to protest police brutality June 6.
The event which was put on by the same group of young adults who hosted last weeks peaceful protest at the suspension bridge.
This one focused more on informing protesters about the importance of using their voices.
"We want y'all to understand the importance of voting," De'viar Woodson, one of the event organizers, said. "Who you vote for controls so much of your life."
There were speakers present as well as singers and poets, and time for people to come up and share their experiences.
Those at the park will honor the lives of Black Americans lost to police brutality with starting at 4 p.m. and will be followed by march at 6:30 p.m.
