WACO, Texas — The Greater Waco YMCA unveiled its latest renovations, new amenities and more after months of construction on Thursday, April 25.
The YMCA says these expanded facilities will offer services and things to do for community members of all ages.
A total of $8 million went into the renovations, all from the YMCA of Central Texas and donors.
President and CEO of the YMCA of Central Texas Jeff Andresen stated, "We're thrilled to offer these new and eagerly anticipated facilities to our members and the broader community. The public's clear demand and strong support have been essential to bringing these projects to fruition.”
The new facilities include the following:
- Therapy Pool Refresh - The pool features new decking, roof and plaster. Perfectly fit for exercise, lessons or relaxation.
- ChildWatch Expansion - This area tripled its previous capacity and includes toddler rooms and a Kids Zone.
- Extraco Land - This is being dubbed as a "Child-sized Wonderland," and features a library, school house, campground and many more attractions.
- Group Exercise Studio - Renovations were made to the studio, so it can host a wide range of cardo classes.
- Cycle Studio - This all new studio is offering an additional source for a cardio workout.
- Fitness Floor - Greater Waco YMCA says this improved space is providing a great atmosphere for exercise.
- Gymnastics - This new program has launched and already has 79 children looking to grow the sport.
- Lobby Renovation - This space is said to offer a welcoming space that sets the tone for community members and visitors
