The event drew over 2,500 competitors and approximately 7,500 visitors from around the globe.

WACO, Texas — Competitors across the globe gathered for the much-anticipated Ironman 70.3 in Waco.

The event was sold-out and featured over 2,500 athletes and 7,500 visitors, including supporters and fans.

The race includes a 1.2-mile swim down the Brazos River, a 56-mile bike journey, and a 13.1-mile run, with the finish line at the historic Waco Suspension Bridge.

Local businesses, including Bitty and Beau's Coffee Shop, have been gearing up for this influx. Shift manager Sandra Kinkead shared that 80% of their staff are adults with disabilities, and she's proud of how everyone has risen to the occasion.

"This is a high-level customer. See, you know, the number of customers. Yeah, remarkable. And our employees, even with their disabilities, are standing strong," Kinkead said. "The customers are being very patient with us and understanding everything we're trying to make goes as smooth as possible."

As competitors swim, bike, and run through Waco's scenic routes, local establishments prepared to accommodate the customer surge, creating a vibrant atmosphere in the city's heart.

The Ironman 70.3 showcases athletic prowess and the community's resilience and spirit. Updates on winners and times will be available here for those wanting to keep up with the race.
