Waco Police said Tuesday morning the death of a man found in a Waco home late Monday night is the first murder of 2018.
Police were called to the home in the 2700 block of Herring Ave after relatives called concerned about the victim's welfare. Police entered the home and found the man who police identify as 20-year-old Taivunn Demontre Briscoe dead inside, according to a press release sent Tuesday morning.
Waco Police Special Crimes' officers and victim services were called to investigate the scene. Police did not release details of how the Briscoe was killed but they did suspect foul play.
Justice of the Peace Diane Hensley was also called to the scene and an autopsy was ordered.
