WACO, Texas — The Waco Police Department announced that 33-year-old Margaret Cosby was arrested for injury to a child causing death on Wednesday, Oct. 11.
According to police, in late September Waco Police Detectives received a Child Protective Services referral about an injury to child investigation.
During the investigation, Waco police says detectives learned that 3-month-old Amir Cosby was taken to the hospital for multiple health-related issues and injuries. Amir Cosby died shortly after getting medical attention, police say.
This is still an ongoing investigation and detectives are waiting on autopsy results for the official cause of death.
There is currently no other information available at this time.
