On September 16, 2016 Commander Luis Almaguer was one of two hundred and thirty Law Enforcement
Officers to graduate the National Academy Program at Quantico, Virginia.
The 265th class consisted of men and women from 47 states.
Included in the class are members of law enforcement agencies from around the world as well as military and federal civilian organizations.
Internationally known for its academic excellence, the Academy offers ten weeks of advanced
communication, leadership, and fitness training for selected officers having proven records as
professionals within their agencies.
Interim Chief Frank Gentsch, himself a graduate of the FBI National Academy Session 214, stated,
“We are extremely proud of Commander Almaguer for completing one of the most prestigious
executive law enforcement leadership academies in the nation.
He is now part of an elite group made up of less than one percent of the country’s law enforcement officers. The FBI Academy is dedicated to the improvement of law enforcement standards and has long been a benchmark for professional development.
This is why Waco Police Department continues to send our supervisors to this training.”
Commander Almaguer is one of many current and former Waco Officers who have completed the
training.
Commander Almaguer started his career with Waco P. D. starting in 1988.
He has worked in Patrol, Bike Patrol, Community Outreach, and Detectives.
