WACO, Texas — Get ready to celebrate this weekend.

Waco Cultural Arts Festival kicks off its three-day jamboree on Friday, Nov. 15, offering the opportunity to indulge in arts, science, poetry, dance, music and film. The annual event, celebrating its 20th anniversary, has more than 5,000 followers on Facebook. Here are some of the venue's biggest attractions. 

What to expect

Artsfest

  • Activities include: Face painting, sculpture making, student art

Wordfest

  • Activities include: Open mics, workshops, book exchanges
  • When: Friday, Saturday and Sunday
  • Where: Multiple locations

Sciencefest

  • Activities include: Robotics, STEM, national park education
  • When: Begins 10 a.m.
  • Where: Waco Convention Center, 100 Washington Ave. Waco, TX 76701

Music and Dance

  • Activities include: Dancing
  • When: Friday evening, Saturday, and Sunday afternoon
  • Where: Venue main stage

Film showcase

  • Types of films: Community, shorts
