Cancer survivor creates art gallery at radiation treatment center

CEO of Creative Waco and breast cancer survivor, Fiona Bond, creates an art gallery in her old treatment center.

Fiona Bond was treated for breast cancer back in 2022 at Texas Oncology - Waco. Now, she's using her position as CEO of nonprofit Creative Waco to return the favor.

On July 11, the Treasure Hunt art gallery is opening in the radiation wing of Texas Oncology. Eleven artworks from Creative Waco's ARTPrenticeship program and the Waco Sculpture Zoo will be on display, giving "cancer patients and their caregivers a touchpoint of hope and humanity in places where they might be having some of the hardest conversations of their lives."

The gallery will be open to the public from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on July 11 at Texas Oncology - Waco, 1700 W. State Highway 6.

The story behind each artwork will be available in Spanish and English.
