Authorities investigating cause of fire at Waco apartment complex Thursday morning

A source tells 6 News that one apartment unit had fire damage, while an unknown number of other units in the complex had smoke damage.

WACO, Texas — A fire broke out at an apartment complex in Waco Thursday morning.

The fire occurred at a complex off of Rambler Drive and Sanger Avenue at 7:30 a.m. but was put out just 15 minutes later by first responders.

One apartment unit had fire damage, while an unknown number of other units in the complex had smoke damage.

It's currently unknown how many residents were displaced from the fire. American Medical Response treated one person on the scene to be evaluated for injury, while Heart of Texas Fire was on scene assisting with rehab. Waco Police also assisted with managing traffic in the area.

The cause of the fire is also under investigation by authorities.
