WACO, Texas — In an effort to conserve water, the City of Waco is asking the public to limit their outdoor watering use to three days a week starting in July.
"As we plan for our future water needs and the impact our water use has on Lake Waco, our City Council has led the way in protecting our residents," the city said in a Facebook post.
Beginning July 1, Waco residents and businesses will be asked to follow a schedule that's been outlined below, which depends on address numbers.
- Odd-numbered addresses: Water on Sunday, Tuesdays and Thursdays
- Even-numbered addresses: Water on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays
You are also asked not to water between the hours of 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. or on Fridays.
"Together we can embrace water conservation and ensure we have enough water for our region, because in Texas the next drought could be right around the corner," the city said.
