BELL COUNTY, Texas — Monday, Oct. 7 is the last day to register to vote in the November General Election.
The Bell County Elections Office has reportedly seen such an increase in the number of visitors and registrations at the office that they have decided to extend the office's hours to 9 p.m. on Oct. 7 to meet the increased need.
“We have seen an increase in the number of registrations over the last week, but we were unprepared for the volume we have seen today,” Election Administrator Desi Roberts said. “We are committed to doing everything we can under the law to ensure that Bell County residents have every opportunity to register and take part in November’s election.”
Residents interested in registering to vote can do so in-person at the Elections Office, located at 550 E 2nd Ave in Belton, Texas, or by mail, if the application is postmarked with today’s (Oct. 7) date.
“Our staff will be here this afternoon and evening, not just to accept applications, but also to help answer questions from anyone needing help with the form,” Roberts said.
