TEMPLE, Texas — Hundreds of Verizon customers in Central Texas reported outages with their cell service on Tuesday afternoon, according to the real-time outage monitoring website, Downdetector.
The Temple, Waco and Austin areas were among the most reported Verizon outage locations across the country, according to the site.
Most of the outages started around 11:30 a.m., but most of the outages were reported just before 1 p.m., per Downdetector.
Among the major areas impacted includes the Greater Houston area, which is now dealing with the aftermath of Beryl. Beryl made landfall in the area as a Category 1 hurricane with max sustained winds of about 80 mph. It caused at least seven deaths, massive flooding and left over 2 million without power and service.
Other cities with the most outages reported include Dallas, New York City, Philadelphia and Chicago.
