TEMPLE, Texas — United Way of Central Texas is hosting an open house event for its 2-1-1 Call Center on Monday, Feb. 12.
The Call Center, located at 4 North 3rd St. in Temple, will be open to the community from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Attendees can come and engage with the Call Center and learn more about what they do.
United Way says 2-1-1 is a resource hotline available 24/7 to help anyone in need of food, help paying for housing, bills and other essential services.
In 2023, United Way Central Texas says the Call Center comprised of four people received about 47,000 calls. The top five needs of these calls being referrals for rent, electric assistance, water assistance, low-income housing and food pantries.
