MEXIA, Texas — There are no reported injuries after a train derailed Wednesday, May 1, about five miles south of Mexia, Texas, according to the Union Pacific Railroad.
The organization said 12 train cars carrying grain derailed around 7:30 p.m., and caused a huge mess along the railroad.
On Thursday, crews were still working on clean-up. They said there isn't an estimated time on when the track will be back open and operating.
The cause of the derailment is unknown at this time.
Union Pacific Railroad says this incident is under investigation.
