Gov. Abbott reappoints Rep. Brad Buckley to Southern Regional Education Board

The announcement will have Rep. Buckley serve a term on the SREB through June 2028.

TEXAS, USA — Rep. Brad Buckley, D.V.M. has been reappointed to the Southern Regional Education Board (SREB) by Gov. Greg Abbott.

Announced on Thursday, Sept. 19, the reappointment will see Rep. Buckley's term run through June 30, 2028. Rep. Buckley is in his third term in the Texas House of Representatives representing House District 54, which includes half of Bell County.

Based in Atlanta, the SREB is a nonprofit organization that works with states to improve public education in a full range of academic settings, from early childhood through doctoral education.

Rep. Buckley himself has extensive experience in both education and community and government aspects. He is a former school board member for Killeen ISD, previously was the chair of the Greater Killeen Chamber of Commerce, and also a former board member for Peaceable Kingdom Retreat for Children. Buckley is also a graduate of Texas A&M, having received a Bachelor of Veterinary Science and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the university.
