With her family safe in the area, Brandi felt compelled to help after witnessing the devastating aftermath through social media.

"They're like our children; they're important, and I think my heart just breaks because the pets out there are lost," Reese said. "They're confused, scared, hungry, and we can come together and just, and even just our little donation, make a difference; that's my goal."

Brandi contacted local animal shelters in North Carolina to see what supplies were needed. The response was that anything helps.

Brandi is accepting donations until Monday to facilitate the collection at several locations, including Mobidog Pet Salon and Spa, Barks and Bliss Clinic, and Granny's Shaved Ice. Items like food, water, and toys are all welcome, and Brandi emphasizes that even small contributions can make a significant difference.

Central Texas resident Steven Ortiz has stepped up to help Brandi's efforts. After seeing her post for help on social media, he offered to drive a truck full of donations to North Carolina.

"You've gotta find it in their heart. God gotta put it on everybody like he did for me, and we've gotta come together as one and help out anybody that needs help," said Ortiz.

For those interested in donating, Brandi encourages everyone to stop by the participating locations and contribute whatever they can to help the pets affected by the hurricane.
