TEMPLE, Texas — A Temple woman was arrested on an arson of habitation charge, a first-degree felony, in connection to a fire at 818 South 23rd St. on May 19, the Temple Police Department said.
Alicia Savannah Pina, 26, was arrested on June 5 after Temple police and fire investigators saw surveillance footage and collected evidence that suggested Pina was the one who started the fire, police said.
Surveillance footage from the home showed a person walking up to the front porch with what appeared to be a gas container, police said.
The footage also showed the same person leaving the home with flame and smoke behind them, police said. The people who live there were asleep when the fire started.
Pina was already in Bell County Jail when she was served her arrest warrant. She is still in Bell county Jail and her bond is set at $101,500.
