temple — Authorities in Temple arrested a suspect who escaped a police vehicle Monday in Limestone County.
Officials said the suspect, 36-year-old Tristan Wayne Neason, stole a car from Groesbeck and drove it to Temple around 3 p.m. Wednesday. While in Temple, he ditched the first car on Industrial Boulevard and stole another car in the area - driving the vehicle to the area of Fannin Loop and Monticello Road where he crashed into a tree.
Bell County Chief Deputy Constable Rosenthal first spotted the suspect in the second car and followed him to the area.
After crashing the vehicle, Neason tried to run into a house on Monticello. However, he was caught and taken to the Bell County Jail.
Bell County Constable Thomas Prado says he's proud of his team for getting a criminal off of the streets.
"Neason is a very bad guy. This is what it's all about, we look for bad guys and put them in jail. I'm very proud of Chief Deputy Rosenthal," said Prado.
Neason is facing several charges, including False ID as a fugitive and evading detention. Neason had been wanted on felony warrants.
Temple police spokesperson Shawanna Neely says Temple PD assisted with the stolen vehicle reports.
