To meet attendance, academic, graduation requirements, Temple ISD to resume classes for two days

The district said they've worked with the city and Oncor to sure staff and students are safe.

TEMPLE, Texas — Classes will resume for two more days for students and staff in the Temple Independent School District, according to a news release sent by the district Tuesday.

The district said several buildings sustained storm-related damage to electrical and HVAC equipment along with water damage.

"Our staff in conjunction with Oncor and the City of Temple have worked around the clock to ensure that staff and students can safely return to finish the school year and satisfy all attendance, academic credit, and graduation requirements with some schedule modifications," the news release reads.

Students in grades pre-kindergarten to 8th will have half-day classes on Wednesday. Students in 9th through 11th will have full-day classes on Wednesday and Thursday to finish exams and credit requirements.

The schedule is as follows:

Wednesday, May 29

•    PK    7:10 am – 1:00 p.m.
•    Elementary 7:55 am – 1:30 p.m.
•    Middle School    8:25 am – 2:00 p.m.
•    Edwards & Wheatley 7:55 am – 1:30 p.m.
•    Temple High School (grades 9-11) 7:30 am – 3:10 pm – full-day for exams
•    Staff – normal workday

Thursday, May 30

Temple High School (grades 9-11) 7:30 a.m. - 3:10 p.m. - full-day for exams.

The district announced on Monday that graduation was still scheduled for June 1 at Cadence Bank Center. Students are expected to arrive at 8 a.m. All senior activities for the week of May 27 were cancelled
