17 Theatre Arts students at Temple High qualify for Nationals

These national qualifiers will be recognized at the December meeting of the Temple ISD Board of Trustees.

TEMPLE, Texas — Temple ISD announced 17 Theatre Arts students from Temple High School qualified for Nationals after receiving Superior ratings at the Texas Thespian contest in November. 

During the annual contest, students who earned superior ratings, the highest possible rating, qualified to advance to national competition. 

Of the 10,000 students that attended the Texas Thespians Conventions, the following 17 students from Temple High School qualified for Nationals:

  • Avery Tarbet
  • Major Linzy 
  • Emily Rodness
  • Avery Morris
  • Sydney Fisher
  • Maxwell Jaffers
  • Kyra Williams
  • Chase Herrington
  • Jayden Malani
  • Aiden Wozniak
  • Olivia Blankenship
  • Kolbie Tichnor
  • Alyssa Maggitt
  • Alyssa Aleman
  • Danae Hardister
  • Antonio Gordon

In addition to these national qualifiers, Temple High School had teams place first in hair and make-up and the Lip Sync Challenge. Second-place finishes were made in mask making and dramatic design team. 

"We were all just cheering when we found out because it was really exciting. Especially with this being my first time to qualify for nationals and knowing how much work went into it, this is very rewarding," Linzy said.
